A Harvard Square treasure since the 1970’s, Harvest has been a fertile training ground for some of the country’s most celebrated chefs. Our illustrious alumni include Lydia Shire, Chris Schlesinger, Barbara Lynch, Frank McClelland, Sara Moulton, Jimmy Burke, Bob Kinkead and Scott Bryan. Harvest burst back onto the culinary scene with a revitalized team in 1998 under the new ownership of respected restaurateur and real estate developer Kenneth Himmel (developer of Grill 23 & Bar and Post390 in Boston; Time Warner Center in New York).
Harvest has been lauded for it’s contemporary New England Cuisine by both local and national press. Awards from local publications such as, Boston Magazine and The Improper Bostonian have included Best Guaranteed Great Meal In Cambridge, Best Outdoor Dining, and Best Sunday Brunch. Harvest has been noted by Travel & Leisure as a Harvard Square classic, and is consistently recognized in Zagat Survey’s top lists.
Harvest does not rest on its laurels as Harvard Square’s culinary landmark. Present day Executive Chef Mary Dumont is carrying on the hard work of past chef’s keeping Harvest current and top of mind to all living in and visiting Boston and Harvard Square.
